Facing slightly northeast, the enigmatic water channel stretches through Areas A and AA. It has been suggested that the water channel ran westward toward the church, bringing water to an underground cistern under the basilica. It is apparent in this photo that the channel does not connect with it upper course in a straight line, but takes a turn northward, connected by a strange water through, the function of which is still unknown. |
