The large carved, oval entryway into the south chamber of the Tomb H.60 complex was ornamented on each side with carved figures of lions/lionesses and angel-type sphinxes and bucrania. Bases, pillars and capitals carved from the bedrock, form its sides and support the molded archway. This was a Roman tomb complex, reused in Byzantine times, with a large central chamber and loculi with arcosolia niches used for the burial of the dead.
